Awesome scooter Works great! Had it for 2 months and our 11 year-old son uses it at least 3 times per week. His friends love it too! It lasts for at least an hour on a charge and can easily go 5-10 miles on flat ground before it needs to be recharged. Follow the instructions and always fully charge it after every use.
Update: Now we've had this for 18 months and it gets very heavy use. It still works great and holds a charge :2011-11-27 16:16:23
awsome scooter for the price This is a terrific scooter for the price. What i like most is the sturdy frame and easy assembly(took about 5 minutes). When you get this scooter it is already charged but is not fully charged so dont expect the battery to last very long at top speed. The only thing I dont like is it isnt a throttle but the what it does have is like one. I also dont like that it is louder than most of the other electric scooters...although it is not that loud. Dont remember the bad things though, just remember that this is a great scooter well worth the price.I give it 2 thumbs up :2011-11-27 16:17:40
Awsome scooter, nice for all ages bought scooter locally]My mom bought me this scooter a few weeks ago, works fine.Im 10 and weigh 90 lbs and zip around pretty good.Easy assembly took literally 2 minutes. This scooter is nice because it is portable and goes on dirt, rocks, grass, and asphalt. This should make every kid happy. Over all this is a good product and fun for all ages :2011-11-27 16:17:19
Best Xmas Present ever for my 8 yr. old twin boys I did a search and found that Amazon had the least expensive for this brand, that I'd already decided on, so I was jazzed to see I could get 2 for around $120.00.
This was the best Christmas ever. My boys got up and went down and saw these scooters and I didn't see them again until around noon. It was the first Christmas since they were born that I actually got a shower before presents. They love these. We have not had any mechanical issues and they ride them everyday. I was surprised at how well made and heavy they were. I just don't know what I'm going to do next year?? :2011-11-27 16:18:38
Check chain tension before riding Like some reviews, my 8-year-old son's first E300 only ran about ten minutes per charge and 13mph max speed (yes, I have a radar gun). Troubleshooting sent us toward a dragging brake, but the brake adjustment was fine. The chain, however, was super tight (I'm an old motorcycle racer, so I know a lot about chain tension). I loosened the chain tension, but no improvement, and returned the entire unit. (I suspect either a bad battery or the overly tight chain tension damaged the motor armature.) When the next E300 showed up, I checked the chain immediately out of the box. Again, super tight. I loosened the chain (extra loose for the first run, maybe 3/4" play) and completed the rest of the setup. The unit performed flawlessly. Speed was consistently 17mph and still running strong after 35 minutes (we've only done two test runs so far). Slightly tightened chain tension to about 1/2" after first run. Also, as noted by another reader, we looked everywhere for the rear tire inflater extension, only to find it inside the right handlebar grip cap. Good luck figuring that out when it isn't in the directions. The E300 is sturdily built - a lot more than I would expect for the money. I weigh 210 lbs and the structure doesn't flinch when I climb aboard (although the motor is clearly not intended for any hills or probably heavy riders). My son is about 60 lbs and we live in Florida (no hills), so this thing will hopefully last a long time. If you live where there are hills or you weigh more than 150 lbs, I recommend you look for another scooter. Happy riding.Razor E300 Electric Scooter
Update: 10-01-2007 I took the E300 out for a test run myself after dropping my son off at school (I want to test the unit thoroughly inside the 30-day return policy). I cruised the entire neighborhood, local park and all around. It is a very blustery day (threatening rain and lots of wind), so I encountered lots of headwinds. Through the ride I was up and down small hills too. I did this entire drive without any stopping, and the E300 finally gave out at 25 minutes on the button (the motor was moderately hot to the touch). Because of my weight (210 lbs), I can tell the motor is small and not designed for any hills or adults, so I was very impressed by this performance, especially considering the occasional stiff headwinds that I could tell strained the motor (you have no choice but to stand straight up like a sail forcing against the motor). My 8-year-old son is about 65 lbs and has never seen the "low power" light yet during his two 35 minute runs. I still think we have winner! :2011-11-27 16:15:08
Control This scooter is great, but 1 thing i cant figure out is what the "24" means on the controls. For all the people that own 1 of these and know wat it means please comment. thanks and overall this product is great.
most of you(not all of you) say that the battery is worn out too fast. I did agree until i told amazon.(there was also a messed up tire) Amazon was very nice to give me a replacement. And when you charge it fully the first time the rest will be great. But there is one problem with both scooters is that when u crash or go over a bump the handlebar and tire move so the handle bar is forward but u could be turning left or right :2011-11-27 16:19:09
E300 Electric Scooter This is a great performing scooter. The scooter came 90% pre-assembled, so assembly was quick and easy. The battery came charged and only required approx. 20 minutes to achieve a full charge--making the impatient child very happy. Its easy to operate, has sufficient power and mph for this age group and the battery charge lasts longer than manufacturer claims. The construction, performance, looks and cost for this level of scooter is hard to match. :2011-11-27 16:19:28
excellent all around My 7-year-old and 9-year-old are just thrilled to pieces with this scooter. Its speed is very impressive and it's so quiet. I think it's well worth what we paid for it. I thought I'd be concerned to have them zooming around so fast, but actually it seems very safe. This is just a fabulous product. :2011-11-27 16:18:20
Good quality, fast and fun Was a bit wary after having read some reviews about poor Razor customer service and not having been able to see the product in stores as it was all sold out prior to Xmas, but went ahead and purchased this on-line. The unit was shipped by Amazon in the origonal Razor box, with big photos of the scooter all over it, which is stupid in my opinion for several reasons: 1) The box is not suitable for shipping and arrived damaged and torn in several places, but the product was not damaged, 2) This was an Xmas present and when it arrived, my whole family saw what it was, so no surprise, 3) Packaging that shows what's inside increases potential for theft. Regarding customer service, we haven't had the need and so I cannot comment.
The good news is that the scooter is great and my 12-year old son loves it! It goes 15-mph which is nice and fast (but not too fast), and has big inflatable tires for a smooth ride. He's very proud and, cgmbined with the Xbox-360, it was a "perfect" Christmas from his standpoint! :2011-11-27 16:19:45
Great for what I purchased it for Out of the box needed air in tires and chain adjustment. After that was ready to go, I use it for going back and forth to work and its great. The office gets a kick out of it and I find its faster than driving due to traffic lights. Speed is fast enough for me and I would imagine its great for kids also. Haven't had any serious issues and its been about 2 wks. Battery time isn't huge for me as I said my ride is only about 3mins so for me it works. :2011-11-27 16:18:05
Great little scooter I purchased this for my 9 year son in March for his birthday. He was so excited and just loves it. Most of the other kids in our neighborhood have one so they have fun cruising down the court. The scooter seems to be built quite well and even handles me (200 lbs) riding on it with ease. The battery lasts much longer than I anticipated and charges fairly quickly. Time will tell how well it holds up to the abuse that kids give their toys. But so far I'm really impressed. :2011-11-27 16:16:40
Great product I purchased 2 Razor 300 scooters for my daughters (8 and 9 years old) for Christmas. They shipped and arrived in 4 days. The were easy to assemble and I was impressed with the quaility. I thought the girls would have a little trouble riding them since the recommended age is 12 yrs old. With an hour or so of instruction they were riding confidently. I am very pleased with everything about these scooters and highly recommend them. :2011-11-27 16:15:27
Magnificent Scooter I bought this scooter to use my car less and less. I don't want to go back! I use it for all of my transportation and enjoy it all. The 45 min use of the battery is only if you go on flat ground the whole time. As you go up hills you can feel it struggle. But can you blame it? It is a small motor. But overall it does great. If your hill is too steep it will automatically shut off to avoid the motor overheating. But give it 10 sec and your off again. Plenty fast. Tons of fun. And you get a lot of smirks from people going around town. :2011-11-27 16:18:56
Razor E300 Great Buy I read every review before buying scooter. With some hesitation, i proceeded with the purchase. What a great gift for a 10 year old boy. I opened it up the day before his birthday, checked the chain tension, charged it overnight / per instructions, and surprised my son with it the next morning. My son is 80 pounds and this thing screamed for what seemed to be more than 45 minutes with all his friends jumping on that morning to take a lap around the block. Some of the lighter kids were making me a little nervous as they we going pretty fast. We also have a steep driveway, only 15 yards long, but he makes it up no problem.
I, weighing 180 pounds, have taken it out for a spin. On flat surfaces it moves along fine though with some incline, I can see how this might get a lower than perfect review. On a full charge, and some momentum I can make it up the driveway as well.
I guess if you are an adult looking for a scooter, go with a Go-Ped or Segway :2011-11-27 16:15:47
Scooter-ific Okay, my title may be a little corny but it's true! My tween daughter loves this scooter. It came in a box and required some assembly. I got it put together in a matter of 5 minutes or so even with my toddler running around. The battery needed charged for a long time before first use, which is typical, but my daughter was anxious to ride it. The next day, she rode it all over the place. We have a farm, and were surprised that it even goes in the grass some. It does a beautiful job on pavement and can reach pretty high speeds! Because it's battery powered, it doesn't go up hills all that fast, but it made it up with my 100 pound daughter just fine. We liked the display that shows when your battery is beginning to wear down so if you're far away from your home, you can begin heading back. I would recommend using helmet and knee pads, elbow pads, etc... It is an excellent toy, and I (along with my daughter) would highly recommend it :2011-11-27 16:16:05
Two boys are very happy My boys (age 15 and 12) saved their money up to buy these. We live out in the country and there is a long private road for them to have fun on! I asked the boys to help me rate them thus, the 5 stars. We had to call Razor, Inc. for a few questions and found the manufacturer to be very prompt and helpful. This was a very good deal financially compared to buying locally! The battery charges quickly and dependable. I have one rule---they have to wear elbow and knee pads as well as a helmet at all times when riding it. They have not wiped out yet but will at least have some protection if they do. I would not recommend a child under 12 riding these---too fast and requires skill, judgement and balance----so a child 12 or older is more appropriate.
Great little scooters. :2011-11-27 16:16:59
